Staggering startup stats: Pakistan’s NICs generated over 27 billion PKR in revenue

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Incubation Centers (NICs) have successfully incubated over 1900 startups, creating more than 185,000 jobs and generating an impressive PKR 27.3 billion in revenue, according to official documents from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT).
The National Incubation Centers Pakistan initiative, spearheaded by Ignite-National Technology Fund under the Ministry’s oversight, has been pivotal in nurturing entrepreneurship and technological innovation. Spread across Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi, and Quetta, the eight NICs have emerged as critical hubs for startup growth.
Significantly, 35% of the startups incubated are led by female entrepreneurs, reflecting a strong push for diversity and inclusion in the tech ecosystem. In a move to further specialize support, a vertical incubator focused on aerospace technologies has also been introduced at the National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies in Rawalpindi.
These efforts by the National Incubation Centers Pakistan are contributing to strengthening the country’s entrepreneurial landscape, boosting employment, and positioning Pakistan as a promising destination for innovation and technology-driven businesses.
